Glynis Butler-Stone - At Risk Youth, Trauma and Foster Care

Glynis Butler-Stone is the CEO of the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento. She has worked in the realm of social work for over 30+ years. Ms. Butler-Stone originally went to school to become a journalist, then moved her way into counseling. Somehow, someway, she found herself working within the foster care system supporting foster families. She developed a passion for providing trauma informed care to children and eventually began providing support for children in congregate care. Ms. Butler-Stone provides a real world view of the foster care system. She speaks on the issues facing children within the system, the emotional toll the system can have on its workers, advocating for at risk youth, her successes, her failures, and how you can get involved with their work.
