Ella Boggus is an African-American single mother of two children. At the age of 20, Ella had her first child. It was then, while staring down a life as a single mother, that she decided to pursue a career in law. She quit her job at Jamba Juice and started her journey at community college. Two years later, she would meet the man she would marry, and she had a second child. She continued to attend college while raising two kids. Whenever she told anyone about her desire to attend law school, she was laughed at. Despite the negative experience, she kept moving forward until she was accepted to the University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law. What she didn't tell people, was that her husband had been struggling with substance abuse for most of her college experience. Two weeks after starting law school, Ella left her husband and filed for divorce. She had a decision to make, quit on her dream, or keep moving forward. She has since graduated from law school. Ella comes on the podcast to talk about her journey and answer questions about coping with difficult situations, defying naysayers and the people who supported her in her journey. She discusses mental health issues and seeking help for those issues. She also discusses her successes and her perceived failures, including lessons she's learned. She also discusses her current challenge, passing the California State Bar Exam. You can follow Ella on her own YouTube channel at this link https://youtu.be/bK0jD5iMwRg
